Meet the team behind Sun's Out Paws Out
At Suns Out Paws Out, we believe pet care should feel personal, professional, and rooted in trust.
What started as one person’s desire to provide the kind of care she would want for her own dogs has grown into a team that supports Calgary pet parents through training, wedding attendant services, and in-home pet care.
No matter the service, the goal is always the same: helping dogs feel safe, supported, and understood.

Sam's story
Sun’s Out Paws Out was founded by Samantha MacLean-McLaine in 2019 with one simple goal: to provide the same level of care she would want for her own dogs. That standard still shapes the business today.
Over the years, the work has grown beyond pet care alone. Sun’s Out Paws Out now supports clients through training, wedding attendant services, and in-home care, while staying grounded in the same values it started with: safety, trust, and thoughtful support.
Sam’s philosophy is simple. The goal is not to be the biggest. It’s to be the one clients trust and the one pets feel safe with. That mindset continues to shape how Sun’s Out Paws Out shows up for every dog and every family it works with.
Our approach
Everything we do is built around the relationship between dogs and the people who love them.
We focus on calm, thoughtful support that puts your dog’s mental, physical, emotional, and behavioural needs first. Whether we are helping with a training plan, supporting your dog through a wedding day, or providing care while you are away, our approach is designed to be structured, supportive, and tailored to the dog in front of us.
What that looks like
Relationship-first care
We take the time to understand each dog as an individual and build trust over time.
Professional Structure
Clear communication, thoughtful planning, and consistent support are built into every service.
Fear-Free Handling
We use force-free methods and positive reinforcement in every interaction with your pets.
